Essence of the Fourth Estate

There are two phenomena that are often misconstrued as one - What is just; and what is perceived as just. It should be obligatory on the part of the media to lead the masses from what they perceive as just to what is truly just. Strengthening perceptions are only less important, perhaps even insignificant when compared to developing the right perception. Media is actually one of the few powers that can bring about this CHANGE, at will/choice, that too.

Great thinking. Keep it up. In interviews and talk shows, it is kind of hard to say what is just. Everyone will talk as if what they did or did not do is justified. The media should be above and beyond the conflicts of thoughts. Encourage healthy discussions which brings out view points with which the journality may or may not agree are required qualities. Sensation may bring viewers now, but down the road honesty, independence and integrity alone will help the media to retain its reader/viewership.

Hey da!!!
Changed the blog name?!?!Keep updating it frequently!!!
And yeah why this sudden change of opinion towards the media?I do agree that there has been 'several' one off incidents...just like what u pointed out in the Barkha episode...but then dont you feel there have been several other media ppl who have been taking the initiative in the right direction?
They have been reflecting the views of the public but arent they justified in doing so?Most of the thoughts echoed by ppl are true or is it?And yeah..as usual ur viewpts are refreshing to read...!!!Keep penning n posting!!!
At then end of the day...let the country triumph!

Hey Dinesh

I merely threw light on what my idea of a righteous media is. With due credit to the media, I do really appreciate the efforts the Media is taking on the humanitarian side. Please do not read into my blogs as Anti-media!

I want to mention here, that you have been doing a tremendous job on your blog, you are definitely an inspiration!

Great work. Wouldnt want to comment on the jibe taken at the media though cuz if it hadnt been for Barkha screaming her lungs out on NDTV or Arnab Goswami conducting fiery discussions on Times Now, I never would have got an idea of what is happening is Mumbai. In your own terms, I am merely opining!! :P
